Who we are

Cameroon Heroes Award is an impact award program which identifies and celebrates excellence and visible impact across Cameroon, annually awarded to Cameroonians and Cameroon based institutions who have created real impact in their communities and Cameroon at large. It is annually organized by GAICAM International and partners, with the mission to identify, honor and promote exceptional Cameroonians and Cameroon based institutions who are creating real impact in Cameroon, and are contributing immensely to the socio-economic development of their communities or the nation at large; elevating poverty and changing lives.

The award is a fully inclusive program and has no social, political, or religious affiliations. This Impact Award is an initiative of GAICAM International, and a viable mechanism to partner and promotes Cameroon’s development vision, the African Union Agenda 63, as well as the United Nation Sustainable Development Goals and other global goals in Cameroon.

GAICAM’s conviction has always been to foster growth and development across Africa, bearing in mind that every strong and vibrant nation or continent in modern history was built by visionaries and transformative institutions whose commitments and patriotism drove them to think beyond the confines of their very own survival. GAICAM International believes that there are lots of remarkable people and institutions in different communities across Cameroon who are contributing immensely to the growth and development of their communities, nations at large, but with little or no encouragement to their efforts. Some of these individuals and institutions don’t even have the opportunity to share their stories, and most often we don’t even have a clue of the indispensable role they are playing in their communities; contributing to the inclusive peace and development of their communities, nations and the entire continent of Africa. Most often they sacrifice their individual aspirations for the betterment of their communities, their nation and the entire continent. These people are extraordinary and remarkable, we call them CAMEROON HEROES.

GAICAM International founded the Cameroon Heroes Award as one of her impact award programmes, designed to honor these Cameroonians and Cameroon based institutions for their immense contributions to the growth and development of their communities and the Cameroon at large. They are our HEROES and our PRIDE. We are thankful to them for standing the gab Cameroon in a time when we need true community driven Cameroonians and Cameroon based institutions to drive development across Cameroon.
