Meet Zoe Health Foundation, a winner of the 2020 edition of the Cameroon Heroes Awards, in the category of Impact Anti Covid Institution. Zoe Health Foundation with Benise Anjangha as Founder and CEO. Benise Anjangha started by caring for Internally Displaced Individuals in their camps and on the streets and later decided to start a foundation in other to care for the sick and underprivileged. She is passionate about caring for the poor and needy, holistic healthcare, public health and learning new skills.
Zoe Health Foundation concentrates on three Sustainable Development Goals that is good Health, Quality Education and Gender Equality. In 2020, they executed over 30 projects in 4 Regions of Cameroon impacting more than 15,000 Cameroonians. Some of the projects include health campaigns, inspirational talks in schools, and marathons for youths and online conferences for capacity building. Their online project ‘Phenomenal Women’ was attended by more than 10 million women across the world.
Zoe Health Foundation was the winner for the Cameroon Heroes Awards because of the impact of their activities geared towards the promotion of good Health, Quality Education and Gender Equality. All nominees had a 40% vote from the general public, 50% votes from the commission of independent judges and 10% votes from the GAICAM board. The judges which constituted 50% of the votes had to carry out their background check and private review in order to independently pass their judgment to whether the candidate deserves the award or not. Zoe Health Foundation had a 12% vote from our independent commission of judges, a 29.09% vote from the general public and a 2% vote from the GAICAM board. Making a total vote of 43.09% final results with the runner up having 23.12% which made her the winner of the said category.
