Meet NDIKOMBUI Nigel Mingoh, a winner of the 2020 edition of the Cameroon Heroes Award, in the category of Impact Business Start-up Founder of the year. He is a holder of an MBA in Finance, a trained accountant and an affiliate of the Association of Practical accounts UK.
He is the founder/CEO of Goodwill Consulting Ltd, a management firm which offers consultancy services to enterprises in the commercial domain, and a vocational training center. He has trained over 1000 graduates and low skill workers, making them exceptional in their area of work. Graduating with a second class upper he knew he would be every employers dream worker, but it was otherwise due to lack of professional training. He did some research and found that more than half of the youths in Cameroon were faced with this problem. He got trained worked for a while and set up his firm in an attempt to provide a solution to youths who graduate and can’t get jobs. Goodwill Consulting Ltd is three years old and have trained and employed about 675 youths this year.
Nigel Mingoh was nominated for the Cameroon Heroes award because of the impact of her business start-ups which has touched many lives. This award is to recognize an individual who have established startup businesses to provide solutions in their areas of operations and has contributed significantly to create socioeconomic change or growth in their communities and impact the lives of individuals as well. All nominees had a 40% votes from the general public, 50% votes from the commission of independent judges and 10% votes from the GAICAM board. The judges which constituted 50% of the vote had to carry out their background checks and private reviews in order to independently pass their judgment to whether the candidate deserve the award or not. Nigel Mingoh had a 19% vote from our independent commission of judges, a 11.69% vote from the general public and a 6% vote from the GAICAM board. Making a total vote of 36.69% final results with the runner up having 27.44% which made him the winner of the said category.
Congratulations once again Nigel Mingoh for your hard work. You have greatly contributed to the growth and development of your community. You have been an inspiration to many youths and Cameroon at large. This has made you our Hero of the year. Your start-ups initiative has created many jobs for youths and has reduced unemployment.
