Impact Sport Personality of the year 2020

Meet NDIFOR Joel, a sport personality and the winner of the 2020 edition of the Cameroon Heroes Award, in the category of Impact Sport Personality of the year. Ndifor Joel an Amputee football initiator, holder of HND and B.Tech in accountancy, co-founder and player in the National team with an aim to create an environment for social cohesion, eliminating stigmatization and inferiority complex and hates with persons with Disability (PWDS), giving them a platform to pursue their dreams of being a football star again from lost hopes and dreams as per their predicaments, proving once and for all that Disability is not inability as the real Disability is our mindset.

Joel is equally a peace advocate, motivational speaker base on changing stigmatization, trauma amongst PWDS, He molds them to accept lives situations and fine a better life and live on; giving hope again. So far they are 60% gone already with little resources. He is the CEO of the Southwest Amputee Football association (SWAMPUTEE) and the active National secretary general of the Cameroon Amputee Football federation.

Joel was nominated for the Cameroon Heroes award because of the impact of his sports activities which has touched many lives. This award was to recognize individuals (Male and Female) in different sports disciplines like Football, Handball, Volley Ball, Basketball, Athletics and Table Tennis who through their talents have showcased an outstanding performance in their discipline and have equally impacted the lives of individuals in their communities through ‘giving back’ or other forms of initiatives that has contributed to the growth of the nation. All nominees had a 40% votes from the general public, 50% votes from the commission of independent judges and 10% votes from the GAICAM board. The judges which constituted 50% of the vote had to carry out their background checks  and private reviews in order to independently pass their judgment to whether the candidate deserve the award or not. Ndifor Joel had a 50% vote from our independent commission of judges, a 11.81% vote from the general public and a 8% vote from the GAICAM board. Making a total vote of 70.81% final results with the runner up having 41.81% which made him the winner of the said category.

Congratulations once again Ndifor Joel for your hard work. You have greatly contributed to the growth and development of your community. Your indiscriminate sacrifices and brilliant initiative has gone a long way in improving the lives of orphans and the less privilege. Making you our Hero of the year.
