Meet Grace of God Philanthropy Foundation Orphanage, the winner of the 2020 edition of the Cameroon Heroes Awards, in the category of Impact Orphanage of the year. Created in 2004 in a family house.
Grace of God Philanthropy Foundation Orphanage has been able take care of children in their personal home who were homeless, abandoned and financial handicap; they gave them the parental love they lost, food, shelter and clothes they lacked. In 2007, Grace of God Philanthropy Foundation Orphanage had twenty nine (29) children under their care and has recently added five children at the orphanage, making a total of thirty four (34) children with three internally displaced families.
Grace of God Philanthropy Foundation Orphanage was the winner for the Cameroon Heroes Awards because of the impact of their work in helping orphans and vulnerable children. All nominees had a 40% votes from the general public, 50% votes from the commission of independent judges and 10% votes from the GAICAM board. The judges which constituted 50% of the votes had to carry out their background check and private review in order to independently pass their judgment to whether the candidate deserves the award or not. Grace of God Philanthropy Foundation had a 22% vote from our independent commission of judges, 1.45% from the general public and 4% from the GAICAM board. Making a total of 43.8% final results with the runner up having 37.29% which making them the winner of the said category.
