Meet BABILA Johnathan NTENGONG, the winner of the 2020 edition of the Cameroon Heroes Award, in the category of Impact Visual Media Personality of the year. He is a holder of a Higher National Diploma (HND) in journalism working for Equinox Television and Radio as a Journalist precisely.
He is a TV and radio news reporter and presenter, he is a hardworking, motivated, adaptable, responsible and committed journalist who through his skills acquired in school and developed through past work experiences in news reporting and the presentation of news editions and programs on radio and over the Tv has greatly impacted the society as he keeps the public informed and gives them up to date information on political, social and economic news. He has a high sense of team work and a strong drive to see things through to completion.
Johnathan was nominated for the Cameroon Heroes award because of the impact of his visual media activities which has touched many lives. This award category is to acknowledge an individual who has adhered to the journalism code of ethics in the execution of his activities/programs, command some degree of public fascination, influence or shape the visual media (TV) landscape positively, and has impacted the lives of people in the community and contributed to the growth and development of the nation. All nominees had a 40% votes from the general public, 50% votes from the commission of independent judges and 10% votes from the GAICAM board. The judges which constituted 50% of the vote had to carry out their background checks and private reviews in order to independently pass their judgment to whether the candidate deserve the award or not. Babila Johnathan had a 25% vote from our independent commission of judges, a 24.87% vote from the general public and a 5% vote from the GAICAM board. Making a total vote of 54.87% final results with the runner up having 42.52% which made him the winner of the said category.
Congratulations once again Babila Johnathan for your hard work. You have greatly contributed to the growth and development of your community. You have been an inspiration to many youths and Cameroon at large. This has made you our Hero of the year.
